In order to align the goals and targets for the year 2018, the Department of Agriculture Central Luzon gathered the seven provincial agriculturists together with their extension workers from the different provinces of the region namely: Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales today at Gracecrown Hotel Balibago, Angeles City.

Regional Executive Director Engr. Roy M. Abaya noted that “The challenge for us this 2018 is lahat ng pondo for the year must be obligated and disbursed but most importantly deliver proper services to our main clientles which are our dear farmers.”

“Another challenge is that by 2022 we are aiming that the production cost of rice will reach 8 pesos per kilogram compared to its current production cost of 13 pesos.” he added.

He also thanked the group for their collaborative efforts resulting for successful year last 2017. Also metioned that the region was recognized as the best operating office last 2016.

Meanwhile each banner program coordinators (rice, corn/cassava, high value crops development program, livestock, organic agriculture, research, and regulatory) presented their plans and programs for this year.###
