MACABEBE, PAMPANGA—Funded by the Department of Agriculture under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), the groundbreaking rites of the San Jose-Castuli farm-to-market road was held at Brgy. San Jose, Macabebe, Pampanga, February 20.
The PRDP is a national project under DA that aims to establish a modern, value chain-oriented, and climate-resilient agriculture and fisheries sector. The project is funded by the World Bank, national government, and participating LGUs.

Macabebe Municipal Mayor Annette Balgan expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Department for awarding the FMR project.
“We have requested this project last 2015 we have passed the stringent process and now everything is set for its implementation.” said Balgan as she thanks DA-PRDP

In his message during the groundbreaking rites, DA RFO III OIC-Regional Executive Director also the PRDP RPCO Project Director Engr. Roy M. Abaya metioned that the FMR project is the first approved PRDP in Pampanga.

“This is the first project under PRDP for the Province of Pampanga. We want na maganda ang pagkakagawa ng proyekto and hopefully matapos ng June-July. Also, hindi lang ang mga farmers ang makikinabang kundi pati ang mga estudyante na pumapasok sa kanilang eskwelahan.”
“We are doing this para mapabuti ang kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka and mangingisda through investment projects.” ended Abaya

The construction of the 2.681 kilometers FMR with a contracted amount of P47,830,000 will benefit barangays San Jose, and Castuli reaching 801 farming households and 113 fishermen.###
