LA PAZ FARMERS ACCEPT DA’S 7MT CHALLENGE
La Paz, Tarlac—A farmers’ forum was conducted in a small barangay of Caut in Tarlac on July 16, 2020. The said activity was led by the Agriculture Secretary William Dar together with Regional Executive Director Crispulo Bautista, Jr.
Through the forum, farmers are able to share and narrate the experiences and struggles surpassed by our local farmers.
One of the farmers, Norma Cancio expressed her gratitude to the endless support of the Department of Agriculture in providing seeds and fertilizer in their area.
“Maraming salamat po sa pagtugon ng mga pangangailangan naming mga magsasaka lalo na ang binigay ninyong binhi sa amin na sakto sa season. On-time po ang mga abono kaya masayang-masaya kaming lahat.” she said.
Subsequently, Secretary Dar stated that the DA will sustain the interventions and support such as milling and warehouse facilities and farm equipment in the Municipality.
In addition, he encourages them to take the challenge of increasing their hybrid rice yield from 3.5 metric tons (MT) to 7 MT. To boost their morale, DA will provide farm machineries to be utilized by their community as an incentive.
“Patuloy ang pagtulong ng DA na maikonekta ang mga magsasaka sa merkado. Ito ay panahon para maitaas natin ang ani at magkaroon ng sapat na pagkain ang ating bansa lalo na ngayong panahong may pandemiyang COVID-19.” Dar added.###
