DA CENTRAL LUZON JOINS THE CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY

City of San Fernando, Pampanga – With the theme “We Make Change for Men and Boys in Agriculture amidst the pandemic”, the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 3 through Gender and Development Focal Point System celebrated International Men’s Day on November 19.

This activity aims to remove the stigma associated with men in the country thus it will improve gender relations, promote gender equality, producing responsible males, and highlighting positive role models.

With this, the Six Pillar of International Men’s Day were created which includes:

  1. To promote positive male role models; not just star and sportsmen but every day, working-class men who are living decent, honest lives especially in the field of agriculture.
  2. To celebrate men’s positive contributions to society, community, family, marriage, child care, and the environment.
  3. To focus on men’s health and well-being; social emotion, physical, and spiritual.
  4. To highlight discrimination against men; in areas of social services, social attitude/exemption, and laws.
  5. To improve gender relations and promote gender equality.
  6. To create a safer, better world; where people can live free from harm and grow to reach their full potential.

Moreover, the DA-RFO 3 conducted a contest in Canvass Painting regarding the Portrayal of Making Difference for Men and Boys.
