DA gave CFSMFF to Central Luzon

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA. The Department of Agriculture of Central Luzon (DA) Agricultural Marketing and Assistance Division and Field Operations Division continued the Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolks only from 13 to 15 January in the province of Aurora, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac.

Sugarcane Regulatory Administration Assistant; National Commission on Indigenous People; Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources; Philippine Coconut Authority; and Development Bank of the philippines in implementing this project.

The Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolks has a total auction of 4.5 billion pesos aimed at providing direct food and financial assistance worth five thousand pesos per farmer or fisherman. It is divided into three thousand pesos financial aid and worth two thousand for food (eggs, chicken and rice). The eligible recipients under this project are small farm farmers and fishermen registered with the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture or RSBSA.

The targeted DA to give Gintang Luzon are 979 corn farmers; 2,632 coconut farmers; 968 sugarcane farmers; 2,261 indigenous farmers and 10,200 fisherfolks.

This week, DA has given subsidies to 1,101 numbers of fishermen (495 in Nueva Ecija; 456 in Aurora; 150 in Pampanga) and 465 in farmer (228 Pampanga corn and sugarcane farmers; 92 Tarlac corn farmers; and 145 Tarlac sugarcane farmers).

In the interview with Baltazar S. Payawal, Jr. The Chairperson of Bambang Multipurpose Cooperative in Candaba, Pampanga is one of the chicken suppliers for food subsidy, he said that’s why they joined this Cash and Food Subsidy and they want to help the Department in distributing aid to their fellow farmers and fishers and it also helps their co-operation because they earn extra income and help their members earn a living.

Currently, the department has distributed to 5,302 Central Luzon farmers and fishermen and the assistance is expected to continue into the following weeks.
