ATM II DA RFO3 Rice Program ready for OneDA approach.
The Rice Program of the Department of Agriculture for Central Luzon is holding a meeting with the provincial implementers of the region this March 4-5 at Venezia Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales about the purpose of the Department to have food security and be this is competitive.
At the meeting, the strategies to be done to properly and efficiently implement various programs and activities of the Regional Rice Program together with farm clustering and consolidation that belongs to the OneDA holistic approach of the Secretary of DA William Dar.
Attended OIC meeting – Regional Technical Director for Operations and Extension Dr. Eduardo Lapuz, Jr., Chief for Operations Division Eduviges Pelayo, Regional Rice Program Focal Person Lowell Rebillaco, Agriculture Provincial Coordinating Officers of the third region, and the Provincial Agriculturalists were involved with their Provincial Rice Focal Person.
First discussed 12 key strategies under OneDA that will guide the Department (DA) to advance key programs and activities for the current year, and will provide way to achieve the growth of the agricultural sector of 2.5 percent.
Following this, the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) also gave updates on the registration of small farmers in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and implementation strategies in the allocation of seeds and fertilizers in the 2021 Wet Cropping Season.
Other than this, also laid updates / status on 2020-2021 dry season planting and harvesting reports and seed and fertilizer (in-kind and e-voucher) distribution under the Rice Resilience (RRP) project; and the submitted general masterlist of the registered farmer beneficiary of department programs and projects.
On the second day, F2C2 or the Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation Administrative Order (AO 27) will be discussed, which only some of its aims can give stronger ties to agri-producers and markets, promote better access to credit and financing, increase overall productivity of the agricultural sector. Discussion also includes the allocation and activities under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) program.
The meeting will be held every two months to ensure proper and efficient implementation of prepared programs and projects of the department.
