Based on the data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority, a 10.56% growth on palay production was seen during the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of last year.
Central Luzon was able to produce 772,855.28 metric tons (mt) this year which is 73,811.78 higher last year.A 10.50% or 73,031.78 increase on the production of irrigated palay was also recorded.
Meanwhile, rainfed palay logs a 22.83% growth or 780.00 mt.
