A Technology Transfer Ceremony & Product Launching cum Field Day was conducted on September 28, 2021 at Sitio Binbin, Brgy. General Luna, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.
Department of Agriculture (DA) – Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) Director Vivencio R. Mamaril and DA – Regional Field Office III Research Division Chief – Dr. Irene M. Adion led the ceremonial transfer of technologies on mushroom crackers and vegetable noodles processing to the Binbin Women Gardeners’ Association (BWGA) and Binbin Igorot’s Association (BIA).
The transfer of the abovementioned technologies was made possible through the DA-BAR funded projects on “Upscaling of Mushroom Crackers as Additional Income Source of Indigenous People in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija in Support to ALPAS CoVID-19” and “Community-Based Participatory Action Research on Upland Vegetable-Mushroom Farming System in Kalanguya Indigenous People of Nueva Ecija”. Both projects are implemented by the DA-RFO III with Dr. Emily A. Soriano as its project lead, with the support of the Local Government Unit of Carranglan, Nueva Ecija led by Hon. Mayor Mary B. Abad through the Municipal Agriculture Office.
The activity was also attended by a private partner that would help market the products through e-commerce and other institutional buyers.
Alongside other initiatives to help expand the livelihood of members of the BWGA and BIA, the activity was conducted to promote the products to other possible market partners and consumers.
