CENTRAL LUZON BAGS 3 RICE ACHIEVERS AWARDS

Malolos, Bulacan – The Department of Agriculture named three provinces from Central Luzon as 2019 Rice Achievers Awardee (RAA) namely Bulacan and Nueva Ecija under the Category A and Zambales under the Category B.

The province of Bulacan was awarded as Outstanding Province by Secretary William D. Dar during the Ahon Lahat, Pagkain Sapat (ALPAS) Kontra COVID-19 Distribution of Livelihood Assistance to Fisherfolks and Farm Machineries to Farmers held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on September 29.

A total of P4 million cheque and certificate of the award were received by Governor Daniel Fernando.

This event was also attended by Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), DA RFO 3 Regional Director Crispulo Bautista, Agricultural Training Institute Center Director Veronica Esguerra, and other officials.

Moreover, RAA aims to acknowledge the exemplary contribution, technologies, and innovations in the rice industry in able to combat global trade uncertainties and put the country in a more food-secure position.

Other provinces such as Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, Cagayan, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, and Davao Oriental are also recipient of the award under the provincial category.###
