DA CENTRAL LUZON PROMOTES GENDER-SENSITIVITY
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA—Pursuant to the Republic Act No. 9710 otherwise known as Magna Carta of Women (MCW), the Department of Agriculture Central Luzon conducted a “Gender Sensitivity Training” from October 6 to 8, 2020 at the DA Conference Room here.
At the end of the training, participants are expected to raised their awareness on Gender and Development (GAD) issues and concerns so they may be able to: discuss the importance of GAD; differentiate sex and gender; identify gender roles in the family, household and society; discuss situation of women and men in the region; and discuss the role of the state in responding to gender needs and the salient features of RA 9710 and other laws for women.
The participants will be composed of newly hired employees and employees who haven’t undergone training related on gender sensitivity.
Among the topics discussed were Sex and Gender, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expressions and Sex Characteristics, Gender Stereotyping, Gender Role and Socialization among others.
