Hybridization Program in Central Luzon, extended by DA RFO 3
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – The Department of Agriculture of Central Luzon held a meeting with various seed companies at DA Conference Hall of Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 3 today.
The aim of the activity is to expand and properly implement the hybridization program in Central Luzon and focus on the delivery and distribution of seeds to local farmers.
Regional Director Crispulo Bautista encourages all seed companies to conduct their own field demonstration farms to advertise their barayti or products.
′′ Let’s work together. Set up your demo farms to feature and showcase your products to different farmers in the region. Large funds allocated for the Rice Banner Program and 70 % of that will be in hybrid seeds,” director added.
It was attended by various representatives of seed companies like Longping Tropical Rice Development Inc., SL Agritech Corporation, SeedWorks philippines Inc., ALJAY Agro-Industrial Solutions Incorporated, Bayer Crop Science, Bioseed Research philippines, Inc., Corteva Agriscience and Syngenta.
In fact, the estimated regular funds for hybrid seeds are in 285,000 bags while the seed reserves are 50,000.#
