A Benchmarking Activity on the Modern Farming Operations Management for the Mango Orchard of Batungbacal Farm at Palauig, Zambales owned by the President of the Region III Mango Stakeholders Association Enrico Batung bacal was successfully done by the Department of Agriculture – High Value Crops Development Program (DA-HVCDP) team headed by the Undersecretary Evelyn G. Laviña last 17th of May.
Batungbacal uses high technologies, disk-type pruning equipment mounted by a tractor, and a boom-type sprayer for the prevention of pests and diseases.Now his farm has a total of 6,000 mango trees which are currently in the pruning or rehabilitation stage.
In support of the Mango Industry, different programs and activities were also discussed together with the project proposals on preventing and controlling the occurrence of pests and diseases specifically the Cecid Fly.
