GOOD AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES (GAP) CERTIFICATION

PhilGAP, or Philippine Good Agricultural Practices, is a certification for crops primarily intended for food consumption. It is a certification program led by BPI with the support of DA-RFOs to ensure food safety and quality, while also emphasizing environmental protection and the health, safety, and welfare of workers. Additionally, one of the pillars of PhilGAP is RA 10611 (the Food Safety Act of 2013), which strengthens the food security system in the Philippines, protects consumer health, and facilitates market access.
